We’ve found some premises!

Flour retail premises

We found some fantastic premises from which to operate and the brilliant news is that at £50 per month they are half the price we budgeted.

I’ve had this great discussion with Rukundo, Erika and Aimable, one of the guys from their house family, where they have told me that they have found a really suitable unit and given me a shopping list of the items they need to get set up.  I have sent them today £600 to cover some basic equipment like a desk chair some shelving, some containers for the flour and some opening stock.  Everyone is very excited.

I’ve also been working on the budget more closely with some better information that Rukundo has sent me.  It’s showing that we should manage to break into profit by the 3rd month as sales grow and achieve significant profit and employ 2 or 3  full-time equivalent people by the end of the six-month.  It’s really looking like our mission is achievable.

The plan is that they will be up and running with basics by the time Judith and I get there and then we can scale it up and buy the larger capital items.

Funds and donations have been arriving steadily and we are now just over two thirds of the way to our £11,000 target

It would be great If you could help us to achieve it.  Donate here

We can also still do with a good laptop and/or tablet, a portable hard drive (used or new) and some gifts for the children would be a great idea, obviously reasonably light and compact.
